'Twister' exec joins 'Speed'-y prod co
Warner Bros. production exec Channing Dungey has signed on with Material, the company run by independent producer Jorge Saralegui, who recently signed a deal with Warners. Dungey becomes senior VP of production at Material.
Dungey comes to Material with several of the projects she’d been developing at Warners, and will also start acquiring new projects for development.
During her four-year tenure at Warners, Dungey worked on such pics as “Twister,” “Devil’s Advocate” and the upcoming “Avengers.”
Saralegui hung a new indie shingle out at Warners after eight years on the Fox lot, where he most recently held the post of exec veepee. He’s credited with overseeing some of Fox’s biggest hits, including “Speed” and “Independence Day.”
Prior to joining Warners, Dungey spent 2-1/2 years at Steven Seagal’s production company. Other production experience includes a stint with J. Todd Harris and Joe Singer at Davis Entertainment.
