Tim Duncan is stepping down as executive director of the Advertiser Syndicated Television Assn. as of July 1. The industry org is expected to name a replacement within the next few weeks.
Duncan has been at the helm of ASTA since 1987. The trade association is devoted to increasing the percentage of ad dollars committed to syndie programming, which traditionally has carried less weight with big-ticket advertisers.
Duncan is credited with increasing the group’s membership roster to include nearly all major studios and syndie distribs, as well as niche oriented outfits like the African Heritage Movie Network and Hispanic-oriented Onyx Media. Duncan intends to revive his TV advertising consulting firm, Boston Media Consultants.
