The Directors Guild of America will hold its sixth showbiz “mixer” to showcase women members for TV series, sitcom and reality show producers.
Representatives of the major networks and Fox, Disney, Rysher, Warner Bros. and USA, among others, are expected to attend the June 9 event at DGA headquarters in Los Angeles.
A DGA statement said the networking event will focus on female guild members “moving to the next step” — for instance, from second assistant director to first A.D., and from first A.D. to director.
Put together by the DGA Women’s Steering Committee, the event will start with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion. At 8:30 p.m., smaller meetings will be held, mostly in three-on-one groups.
