Bob Higgins has been upped to veepee of creative affairs for Columbia TriStar Children’s Programming.
Higgins’ promotion reflects the continued growth of Col TriStar TV’s kidvid division over the past 2-1/2 years. In his new post, Higgins will supervise devel-opment and current production for animated, live-action and direct-to-video projects. Higgins, who joined the division as director of creative affairs in 1996, reports to exec VP and general manager Sander Schwartz.
“Bob Higgins has played a pivotal role in growing this division into a preeminent supplier of children’s programming and shares responsibility for much of its success,” said Schwartz. Among the series Higgins has helped shepherd for Col TriStar are the cartoons “Jumanji” and “Extreme Ghostbusters,” the WB’s “Men in Black” and “Godzilla: the Series,” premiering this fall on the Fox Kids Network.
Prior to joining Col TriStar, Higgins worked as director of development for Nelvana Communications. He started his showbiz career at Creative Artists Agency as an assistant in the TV packaging department.
