CNN/U.S. lifts Iliff

News vet to fill exec editor post

NEW YORK — CNN News Group has upped nine-year vet Ted Iliff to the newly created executive editor post at CNN/U.S.

In his new position, Iliff will oversee all writing and copy editing for CNN/U.S., working with exec producers of weekday and weekend newscasts, in an effort to standardize style and resolve editorial issues.

Iliff joined CNN in 1979 and moved to CNN Intl. in 1992 as an executive producer. Prior to CNN, Iliff worked for Radio Free Europe in Munich, for USA Today and for UPI.

CNN/U.S. veepee Sid Bedingfield said the appointment is effective April 13.
