Cahners honors Sony’s Stringer

Barnet presents nod

NEW YORK — Sony Corp. president Howard Stringer was awarded the Norman L. Cahners Lifetime Achievement Award at the third annual Creative Excellence in Business Advertising awards luncheon Tuesday at the Sheraton New York Hotel.

Stringer accepted the Cahners Award on behalf of Sony and Nobuyuki Idei, co-CEO and president of Sony Corp. The 1998 award was presented by Bruce Barnet, president and CEO of Cahners Business Information, parent company of Daily Variety.
