MIAMI — Mauricio Duran has been named associate general manager of Buena Vista Columbia TriStar Films de Mexico, a joint venture distribbery serving the No. 2 Latino theatrical market.
Duran, who joined Columbia Pictures in 1986, was previously marketing manager. He reports to local G.M. Philip Alexander.
“Mauricio has such wide and varied experience in this industry for someone so young. We are proud to have him working with us,” said Diego Lerner, BVI’s Latino SVP.
Col TriStar has also tapped Ernesto Espinosa as marketing manager for the joint venture office, replacing Duran.
