Major blow during launch preparations
LONDON — British Sky Broadcasting has been hit by the death of a senior member of its new management team, chief financial officer Nick Carrington.
Carrington, who was 47, died March 6 after a brief illness. His death is a major blow to BskyB at a time when the satcaster is preparing for the costly and complex launch of its digital service.
Carrington took over the satcaster’s top financial position only a couple of months ago, replacing Richard Brooke. Brooke’s exit followed the twin resignation of chief exec Sam Chisholm and his deputy, David Chance.
Alongside the new chief exec Mark Booth and general manager Elisabeth Murdoch, Carrington was a key member of the executive team plotting BskyB’s digital strategy.
