Aussie co gets three-year deal, replaces MTM
SYDNEY — Major Australian film and TV producer-distributor Beyond has won global distribution rights to more than 1,000 hours of TV programming from Kerry Packer’s top-rated Nine Network, replacing America’s MTM in the role.
The three-year exclusive pact includes both completed programs and format rights to Nine’s large inhouse stable of lifestyle, infotainment, magazine and reality programs.
The deal boosts Beyond’s catalog hours by 1,082 to 4,323 hours and gives the distrib rights to sell formats as well as completed programs.
“Beyond’s track record with this genre of programming speaks for itself,” said Nine program director John Stephens.
