NEW YORK — BBC America — the four-month-old BBC-owned domestic channel distributed by Discovery Networks — has hired Mary Pratt-Henaghan as VP of network operations and Chris Carr as CFO.
Pratt-Henaghan joins BBC America from Discovery, where she worked for more than seven years. She was most recently director of network operations for Your Choice TV, a Discovery-owned pay-per-view project that was recently shut down.
Carr has worked for the BBC for eight years, joining as an accountant in 1990 and rising to head of financial planning for BBC Worldwide Television. Carr will move from London to BBC America’s Bethesda, Md., headquarters to assume his new position.
BBC America is headed by general manager Paul Lee.
BBC America is a result of an alliance between the British Broadcasting Corp. and Discovery Communications, one that also includes Animal Planet, a cable web that is jointly owned by the BBC and Discovery.
