TORONTO — Former Miramax Films exec Jim Sherry has been named senior VP and general manager of Alliance Releasing.
Sherry will oversee all Canadian film distribution activities for Alliance. Sherry replaces Tony Cianciotta, who left Alliance last year to help create upstart film distributor Red Sky Entertainment in Vancouver. Prior to joining Alliance, Sherry was vice president and general sales manager at Miramax Films in New York and before that he worked in sales and marketing at New Line Cinema.
