The American Film Market Assn. held its annual board meeting Thursday and elected nine new members.
It was the first board election since Mark Frischkorn was named president of AFMA one year ago. The trade group represents more than 130 independent motion picture and television companies that license their wares in the international marketplace.
Two of the 20-member board’s vice chairs, Lloyd Kaufman and Barbara Mudge, ran unopposed. Lewis Horwitz was elected general vice chairman and Tim Hill became vice chairman/finance. Lawrence Garrett is the new chairman of the American Film Export Assn.
The nine new members, who will serve one-year terms, are Talaat Captan, Fred Cohen, Steven Leibovitz, Heidi Lester, William Moraskie, Steven Paul, Lawrence Safir, Rick Sands and Mimi Steinbauer.
The other board members are Sharyon Cobe, Peter Elson, Herb Fletcher, Michael Goldman, Arthur Kananack, Norman Katz, Todd Levitt, Mark Lindsay, Liz Mackiewicz, Andrea Miller and June Shelley.
Jean Ovrum and Lisa Wilson are members of AFMA’s alternate board of directors.
