New media, programming on agenda
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences activities committee has planned “An Evening With Geraldine Laybourne,” featuring the former Nickelodeon prexy and current president of Disney/ABC Networks on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the TV Academy’s Leonard H. Goldensen Theatre in North Hollywood.
Laybourne will discuss a range of issues including the effects of today’s programming on tomorrow’s viewers, the relationship and eventual convergence between traditional TV and new media, the impact of niche programming and audience segmentation and the real meaning of the FCC’s educational programming requirements.
Presentation will be followed immediately by a dessert reception. Event is open to the public. ATAS members are admitted free. Non-member tickets cost $15.
