Alphabet web veteran Jeff Bader has been upped to senior veepee of program planning and scheduling for ABC Entertainment.
Bader’s promotion, coming on the heels of other senior ABC exec shuffles earlier in the month, had been expected (Daily Variety, Aug. 3). Bader, who previously was VP of program planning and skedding, reports to ABC Entertainment prexy Jamie Tarses.
Bader oversees day-to-day scheduling matters and long-range planning for the entertainment side of the Alphabet web. Along with exec VP Mark Pedowitz, Bader also is responsible for all of ABC’s feature film acquisitions.
Bader has been with ABC since 1988, starting out as supervisor of audience analysis. He rose through a number of exec posts in the research and programming units before being named veep of planning and skedding in 1996. Before ABC, Bader worked in the research departments of MTM Distribution Group and NBC.
Bader’s promotion follows the recent ascension of former ABC daytime prexy Pat Fili-Krushel to the post of network prexy and Laura Younger’s rise from veepee to chief financial officer of ABC Inc.
