NEW YORK — Propaganda Films has paid $800,000 against $1.25 million for “Bounce,” a spec script by Don Roos to be produced by Propaganda chairman Steve Golin.

Roos, whose script credits include “Boys on the Side,” “Single White Female” and “Love Field,” will co-produce.

In the vein of “Jerry Maguire,” “Bounce” is about an advertising agency hotshot whose life is ruined and who gains humanity, spirit and love out of his adversity.

Roos has also arranged to make his directorial debut at Rysher Entertainment, where he’s set up his comic script “The Opposite of Sex.” The film will be a low-budget effort to be produced by David Kirkpatrick and Michael Besman.

Roos expected to make his helming debut at Fine Line on “Easy Women,” but the pic fell apart after Meg Ryan backed out. Roos got the script back and with producer Marvin Worth hopes to set it up again for a future date.

The writer is repped by ICM’s Steve Rabineau, who brokered the deal.
