Wayans, Fox part ways on comedy

Damon Wayans has parted ways with 20th Century Fox Television on a comedy series he was planning to star in and produce, possibly for the Fox network.

Wayans is believed to be in the process of setting up the show with the Carsey-Werner Co., but C-W officials could not be reached for comment.

Sources close to the project say Wayans’ split from 20th was amicable, with the studio and the star agreeing to disagree on writers and other creative matters relating to the comedy.

Wayans remains in the 20th fold on the drama side as an executive producer of Fox Broadcasting Co.’s new fall entry “413 Hope Street.”
