TW’s Road Runner Net link goes west

Time Warner Cable is launching its Road Runner cable modem service in San Diego next month.

The service, which debuted in Akron, Ohio, in the fall, uses an existing cable TV system to provide high-speed computer links to the Internet.

The San Diego service is being launched with Southwestern Cable. It is the first Road Runner service on the West Coast.
