NBC’s Brillstein-Grey comedy “The Naked Truth” is being revamped again for fall.
The show was already reworked once when it moved from ABC to NBC. Now, Michael Saltzman of “Murphy Brown” is the new executive producer, and some cast changes are expected.
Tea Leoni, Holland Taylor and Mark Roberts will be staying, but George Wendt is on the fence, sources say. Jonathan Penner and Darryl Sivad will not be returning. While the show will still be set at a tabloid newspaper, Leoni’s character could get another position on the paper, and a few new characters, still uncast, will also be added.
“The Naked Truth” is moving to Mondays at 9:30 p.m., where it will face its first real test in an unprotected timeslot on NBC’s all-women’s comedy lineup. Its competition will be CBS’ new comedy “George & Leo” starring Bob Newhart and Judd Hirsch.
