As “Touched by an Angel” soared to an all-time ratings high, CBS posted its best Sunday primetime numbers since May, while Fox cleaned up later in the night with part two of the season premiere of “The X-Files.”
Sunday’s episode of “Touched by an Angel” hit an 18.0 household rating and 26 share, according to preliminary Nielsen national ratings for Sunday. “Touched” also hit new highs in the key demographic categories of adults 18-49 (7.9) and adults 25-54 (9.6).
On the darker side, Fox’s “The X-Files” easily won its Sunday 9-10 p.m. timeslot with a 14.7/21 in households and a 13.5 in adults 18-49. Final national Nielsen numbers for Sunday, which marked the end of the first full week of the November sweeps, will be available today.
“X-Files” blew away its competition, but CBS fared better than ABC and NBC, with part one of made-for “Ken Follet’s The Third Twin,” which averaged a 12.0/18 from 9-11 p.m.
