TNT has inked a two-year deal to telecast the Screen Actors Guild Awards, SAG and TNT officials announced.
The SAG awards show will air at 8 p.m. March 8. For the first three years, the awards ceremony was broadcast on NBC, which decided not to pick up its option.
“We are happy to be on Sunday nights with TNT,” Kathy Connell, producer of the 1998 program as well as NBC’s producer last spring, told Daily Variety. “Industry attention is growing every year.”
Since 1995, Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Nicholas Cage, Frances McDormand and Geoffrey Rush have won SAG awards and Oscars in the same year.
Submissions for SAG awards will begin Oct. 6 and close Dec. 3. Nomination ballots are due back Jan. 26 and will be announced Jan. 27.
