TNT retoons Aussie ops

HONG KONG — TNT & Cartoon Network is expanding its reach in Australia through a new distribution agreement with Austar, a regional pay TV company.

Beginning Friday, Turner’s 24-hour cartoon and movie network will be available to Austar’s 150,000 subscribers around the country.

“This agreement increases TNT & Cartoon Network’s reach in Australia to more than 600,000 subscribers in total,” said Gregg Creevey, Turner Intl. vice president of network distribution and marketing, Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

“There has been a nationwide demand for TNT & Cartoon Network, which until now has been available only in the key metropolitan cities and on our system on the Gold Coast,” said Bruce Mann, Austar director of marketing and programming.
