BERLIN — German entertainer Thomas Gottschalk has inked an exclusive deal with Disney to host a series of TV shows produced by Buena Vista in Germany, and will appear in Disney feature films. Cologne-based Buena Vista Prods. Intl. announced on Monday that Gottschalk, 47, has signed an “exclusive, worldwide TV contract” with the studio, which will go into effect on Jan. 1, 1998.
Gottschalk, one of Germany’s most popular comedians, will also advise Disney on the development of new TV formats for the German and U.S. markets.
Pubcaster ZDF recently extended Gottschalk’s contract as host of gameshow “Wetten, dass … ?” through the beginning of 1999.
