Tom Arnold, set to return to series TV this fall on the WB Network, will get a preseason workout next month as host of a live Fourth of July special syndicated by Tribune Entertainment.Tribune, a part owner of the WB, has cleared the hourlong “Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular” in 141 markets covering 90% of the country. The special, featuring fireworks popping over New York’s East River, will be carried live by all 16 Tribune Broadcasting stations. Outside of the Tribune group, stations signing on for the special include KICU San Diego, WXON Detroit, WATL Atlanta and WLVI Boston. In other syndie clearance news, startup distributor Affinity Television has cleared its paranormal-themed weekly reality series “Looking Beyond” in 26 of the top 30 markets, including KABC Los Angeles, KYW Philadelphia, KRON San Francisco and WBZ Boston. Affinity, which bought out indie distrib Tradewinds Television earlier this year, also has renewed Tradewinds’ reality hour “Bounty Hunters” for a second season in more than 80% of the country and all top 10 markets.
