NEW ORLEANS — The Partner Stations Network is launching a new half-hour strip for midseason called “This Is Amazing.” The strip will be distributed by Eyemark Entertainment, with KCAL, Los Angeles, co-producing and airing it in access.
The show, which PSN managing partner Michael Lambert describes as a cross between “Real TV” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” is hosted by Pat O’Brien and will be shot at KCAL in front of a studio audience. It’s being sold for cash plus 1-1/2 minutes of barter, and while the show will go on the air in April, the barter doesn’t begin until September.
The strip will air on PSN’s member stations, which include LIN Television, Malrite, Pappas, Providence Journal and Sinclair, with total clearances at 32%. Sources say some CBS O&Os also may air the strip, which is targeted to news-adjacent slots.
KCAL will air the show between 6 and 8 p.m. in April, moving it to 7 or 7:30 p.m. in the fall.
“This Is Amazing” is the second strip in the partnership between Eyemark and PSN, the first being the hour weekly “Pensacola.” PSN may announce another hour this week.
