Nick sets ‘Rugrats’ CD-ROM

Nickelodeon has formed an exclusive partnership with software publisher Broderbund. The two companies will team on a CD-ROM product line based on Nick’s “Rugrats” TV series. The discs are slated to bow in 1998.

The companies will produce software in two categories: story-based and activity-based.

Klasky/Csupo, the production company behind “Rugrats,” will work closely with the software development teams to ensure a smooth transition to digital media.

Broderbund is known for a range of CD-ROM titles including the Living Books and Carmen Sandiego series for kids. The company also publishes the perennial bestseller “Myst.”
