Nick buys ‘Brothers Flub’

Series will premiere on Viacom kidnet during the 1998-99 season.

Nickelodeon has pacted to buy 26 episodes of the Sunbow Entertainment animated series “Brothers Flub” that will premiere on the Viacom kidnet during the 1998-99 season.

Show, co-produced with the German company Ravensburger, follows the antics of the quarrelsome brothers Guapo and Fraz as they travel to distant planets to pick up and deliver such freight as giant metal pinballs. David Burke created the show, which is being designed by Lazlo Nosek of Klasky-Csupo.

C.J. Kettler, prexy for Sunbow, said, “Nickelodeon is the perfect destination to reach kids … because of its commitment to character-driven, innovative animation.”

Besides the sale to Nickelodeon domestically, “Brothers Flub” has also been pre-sold worldwide to more than 25 countries, including Italy, the U.K., Mexico and New Zealand.

Sunbow’s other recent productions include “The Tick” and “The Mask.”
