HONG KONG — NBC Asia has launched its newest channel, NBC Japan, on direct broadcast satellite service DirecTV, marking the network’s first entry into the Japanese market.
NBC Japan, which launched Dec. 1, is a combination of programming from NBC, CNBC and MSNBC.
“We are looking forward to jointly developing the market,” NBC Asia president S.K. Fung said. “We see Japan as one of Asia’s most important multichannel markets in the next five years and eagerly anticipate further expansion and development of the NBC brand there.”
