Mary Tyler Moore, last seen on television as a co-star on the short-lived CBS series “New York News,” re-turns to the tube in a recurring role on the NBC comedy “The Naked Truth” (which premiered Thursday night) portraying the mother of Nora (star Tea Leoni).
The first episode featuring Moore, scheduled to air Feb. 6, will find her joined by George Segal, who returns to the show as Nora’s father, Fred. It will thus serve as a reunion of the critically-acclaimed comedy feature “Flirting with Disaster” that starred Leoni, Moore and Segal as well as Ben Stiller and Patricia Arquette.
In “Flirting,” Moore and Segal portrayed Stiller’s adoptive parents. Leoni’s character was helping Stiller in his search for his biological parents.
Moore’s past television projects include “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.”
