Gordon Manning, a onetime senior news executive with both CBS News and NBC News, has been elected prexy of the Intl. Council of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Foundation, effective immediately.
The NATAS Intl. Council underwrites a number of educational programs, including the Peter Ustinov TV Scriptwriting Award, and also sponsors courses on media study and additional outreach programs.
Manning began his career as a print journalist in the 1950s before moving to CBS News and later NBC News. For the past 10 years, he has been staff consultant of editorial projects at NBC.
