“Know It Alls,” the local-color gameshow format developed by Brandon Tartikoff, is on a roll in the heartland.
“Lone Star Know It Alls” is set to debut this fall on a half-dozen Big 3 affiliate stations in Texas, including KXAS Dallas and KPRC Houston. Scripps Howard Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate WCPO Cincinnati has just signed on to produce its own localized version of the quiz show, while “Volunteer Know It Alls” is expected to bow on a number of Tennessee stations, including NBC affil WSMV Nashville, in January.
Distributed by Litton Syndications, “Know” features a “Jeopardy!”-esque format with questions focusing on local or regional history, geography, politics and personalities, among other readily adaptable categories. “Hoosier Know It Alls” has been a solid weekend performer for WTTV Indianapolis since it premiered late last year.
Tartikoff, the former NBC Entertainment chief, developed the “Know It Alls” format for WGNO New Orleans in 1993. South Carolina-based Litton has been selling the format rights to the show since early 1996.
