Paramount Network TV has signed a three-year overall deal with “Frasier” producer Joe Keenen, who will develop new comedy series at the studio.

Keenen is an Emmy Award-winner for his work as supervising producer-writer on “Frasier,” and he’s been upped to co-executive producer of the NBC sitcom as part of the deal, which sources say is worth seven figures.

Keenen joined “Frasier” in 1994 as executive story editor, and soon after he rose to co-producer and then supervising producer.

His first “Frasier” script that was produced, “The Matchmaker,” received an Emmy nomination in 1995. And he won the Emmy in 1996 for an episode titled “Moon Dance” that he co-wrote, which was directed by “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer.

Prior to his work in TV, Keenen was the author of two humorous novels, “Blue Heaven” and “Putting on the Ritz.” He’s currently adapting “Blue Heaven” as a screenplay for Jersey Films. Keenen also co-created the pilot “Gloria Vane,” and he co-wrote the 1994 film “Sleep With Me,” starring Meg Tilly and Eric Stoltz.

The deal was negotiated by Par Network TV Division president Garry Hart and ICM vice president Scott Arnovitz.
