Another Fox O&O, this time in Dallas, is expected to move Twentieth TV’s “Access Hollywood” out of its access berth next Monday, sources said.
On KDFW Dallas, market No. 8, the show is expected to move from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.; it will be replaced by Paramount Domestic TV’s “Hard Copy,” which aired in the slot last season. “Copy” will also replace a second run of “Access” at 12:30 p.m. In May, “Access” averaged a 4.2/7 on KDFW, off just slightly from lead-in, but down 42% from its year-ago performance.
On Tuesday, several other Fox stations downgraded the frosh newsmag (Daily Variety, May 28). WAGA Atlanta and KSAZ Phoenix moved “Access” from access slots, and KTBC Austin Texas will do the same on Monday. Kansas City’s WDAF has shifted the show from 3:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.; KTVI St. Louis is expected to move “Access” from its 9 p.m. slot.
The moves are significant because the Fox downgrades could hurt the show, which is owned by sister Twentieth TV and by NBC.
