Howie Mandel has a new home in the Windy City — Tribune Broadcasting’s flagship WGN Chicago.
The WB Network affiliate has picked up Paramount Domestic TV’s syndie talk-variety show with Mandel for a June 1998 premiere, rounding out the sales process for the show in the crucial top three markets. The show was picked up last month by CBS O&Os in New York and Los Angeles.
Other new stations signing on for “The Howie Mandel Show” include ABC affil WXYZ Detroit, NBC affil WXIA Atlanta and CBS-owned WFOR Miami. To date, the hourlong strip has been sold in 70 markets covering about 60% of U.S. TV households.
