Hardware chain Home Depot is underwriting a new live-action children’s show to be distributed in syndication by Gotham-based indie MG/Perin.
“Homer’s Workshop,” skedded for a fall 1998 bow, will offer simple how-to instructions on a single “do-it-yourself adventure” each week. Twenty-six episodes will be produced by Big Kids Prods. in association with Home Depot.
The half-hour TV series is an offshoot of the chain’s popular in-store workshops for kids. The Atlanta-based retailer is promising to back major national cross-promotional campaign for the series. Home Depot presently has 590 outlets nationwide.
