Veteran TV exec John Goldhammer has been brought on as an executive producer of “Vibe,” the latenight syndie strip from Columbia TriStar, Quincy Jones and David Salzman.
The hire is another sign of the studio’s commitment to shoring up the big-budget show, which has seen its ratings perk up after the show’s original host, Chris Spencer, was replaced last month with the better-known comedian Sinbad.
Goldhammer spent six years with Paramount, overseeing the production of “Entertainment Tonight,” “Solid Gold” and other syndie franchises. He’s most recently worked as a programming consultant for such clients as Vin Di Bona Prods. and MGM. Col TriStar sources say Goldhammer’s varied TV production background was seen as a good fit with “Vibe’s” exec producer team of Jones, Salzman and Daniel Kellison.
