Emmy Award-winning director Louis J. Horvitz will direct the Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast for the fifth consecutive year, it was announced Thursday by the program’s executive producer Don Mischer.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 49th primetime awards ceremony will be broadcast from Pasadena’s Civic Auditorium from 8 to 11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14 (live on the East Coast, delayed on the West Coast).

Horvitz’s credits include the Oscarcast, which garnered him an Emmy nomination this year, and “‘The Kennedy Center Honors,” for which he won an Emmy Award last year.
