Tim Doyle has been named executive producer of Touchstone TV’s “Ellen” for next season.
Doyle was previously exec producer of Carsey-Werner’s “Grace Under Fire” and supervising producer of Carsey-Werner’s “Roseanne.”
He’s replacing departed executive producers Mark Driscoll and Dava Savel. While others on the writing staff may also be leaving, executive producer Vic Kaplan is staying with the show, which saw an end-of-the-season ratings rally driven by the “coming out” of title character Ellen Morgan.
Despite rumblings that show star Ellen DeGeneres did not want to continue with the show, ABC renewed the sitcom, which will air Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. next season.
