Downey lands in ‘Borrowed’ role

Roma Downey, who stars as Monica on the CBS hit “Touched by an Angel,” has been inked to star with Hector Elizondo and Eric McCormack in the CBS telefilm “Borrowed Hearts” for Atlantis Films. It shoots in Toronto this summer for airing in December.

As part of her deal, Downey will also serve as an executive producer on the project, in which she portrays a working-class mother with a young daughter who is guided by a mysterious stranger (Elizondo) into a Christmastime romance.

Downey is repped by the Gersh Agency’s Ken Kaplan and attorney Michael Gendler.
