Disney pilot may push license

The Disney sitcom pilot starring comedian Dave Chappelle (“The Nutty Professor”) is now in development at Fox Broadcasting Co., according to insiders.

If the series gets picked up, it could be the first Fox show with a 5-1/2-year license fee agreement. Last week, 20th Century Fox TV agreed to a 5-1/2-year deal on the ABC drama “Nothing Sacred” if Disney gave Fox the same consideration.

While the Chapelle project hasn’t been picked up, there’s speculation his show could be the first Fox project with a longer term deal.
