NEW YORK — The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences wants to simplify things and get in step with the calendar year.
In order to move the eligibility period for the annual Daytime Emmy Awards to the 12-month calendar year, from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, the Academy announced yesterday that this year’s eligibility period (historically running from February to February) will be shortened by a month.
For the 25th Annual Daytime Emmys, eligibility will run from Feb. 6 through Dec. 31.
Voter registration and entry forms are currently in the mail and the deadline to return the forms is Dec. 31.
This year’s awards show will be broadcast on the Peacock network. Date and venue will be announced at a later date.
