Howard Davine, vice president, business affairs at Walt Disney Television, has been named president of Starlight Children’s Foundation, succeeding Peter Samuelson, who has served for 14 years.
Davine has been involved with Starlight as president of its L.A. chapter from 1987-1991, as well as its pro-bono counsel since 1983. Prior to joining Disney in 1995, Davine headed the entertainment department of the law firm Christensen, Miller, Fink, Jacobs, Glaser, Weil & Shapiro, which he joined in 1990.
Starlight is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 by Samuelson and his cousin, Emma Samms. The Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seriously ill children and their families through programs such as wish-granting, and other children-oriented hospital activities.
