Carsey-Werner has renewed its exclusive overall deal with writer-producer Matthew Carlson, creator of freshman NBC comedy “Men Behaving Badly” and “Townies,” which had a brief run on ABC earlier this season.
Carlson, who first signed an overall deal with the production company a little more than two years ago, is understood to have renewed his deal for three more years. The deal is said to be worth several million dollars, with some estimates putting it north of $2 million annually.
His other credits include ABC’s “The Wonder Years.” Before joining Carsey-Werner, Carlson had a stint at ABC Prods., the inhouse programming arm of ABC. While there, he created “Camp Wilder” and “The Boys are Back.”
