Buena Vista TV has given two thumbs up to “Siskel & Ebert” producer Stuart Cleland, promoting the longtime staff member to executive producer.

Cleland succeeds Larry Dieckhaus, who has departed after a 10-year run as exec producer of the weekly movie program hosted by film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert. The Siskel and Ebert pairing bowed on PBS in 1982 and has been syndicated by Buena Vista TV since 1986.

Cleland spent several years as a producer for pubcaster WGBH Boston before joining “Siskel & Ebert” as an associate producer in 1987.
