'Voyager' producer enters three-year deal

Brannon Braga has signed a three-year overall deal worth an estimated $5 million to develop TV series and longform projects for Paramount Network TV.

He has also been upped from supervising producer to co-executive producer of UPN’s “Star Trek: Voyager” as part of the deal.

Braga’s is the second big overall production and development deal Par has inked this week. On Wednesday, the studio signed “Frasier” writer-producer Joe Keenan to a seven-figure overall deal and upped him to co-executive producer of “Frasier.”

Braga first started working on the “Star Trek” franchise in 1990 as a writer-producer on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” series. He joined “Star Trek: Voyager” in 1995 as a producer and later rose to supervising producer.He also co-wrote the feature films “Star Trek: Generations” in 1994 and “Star Trek: First Contact” in 1996.

Braga is currently writing sci-fi/adventure feature scripts for New Line Cinema and Lightstorm Entertainment. His deal with Par was brokered by Endeavor.
