Bloomberg hits Latin America

BUENOS AIRES — Bloomberg has announced the launching of Bloomberg Television, a Spanish-language news channel to reach all of Latin America starting this fall. The U.S.-based news information company is also opening a Buenos Aires bureau as part of its expanding newsgathering operations on that continent.

Bloomberg hopes to attract clients with the number of news items offered per minute and per inch on the screen. The round-the-clock channel will be available on PanAmSat 3 and will offer financial news, sports, political and economic news and weather forecasts.

“We are different from everyone else because we give more info than any one else in the same period of time,” says Francisco Sibauste, Bloomberg manager for Latin America.
