NEW YORK — The Big Three networks each took home an Emmy Award Monday night as the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences named three winners in the community service and public-service announcement categories.
KNBC Los Angeles won a community-service Emmy for “Beating the Odds,” a weekly program spotlighting achievements by high school seniors.
ABC won its trophy for a national public-service announcement titled “Bedroom,” designed to educate Americans on the current status of the AIDS epidemic.
And CBS O&O KUTV Salt Lake City won an Emmy honoring local PSAs with “School to Careers,” aimed at enhancing career-oriented education for school children.
The awards were presented at a dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
