Avary does ‘Odd Jobs’ for NBC, Spelling

'Pulp Fiction' contrib'r enters pilot race

Roger Avary, the writer-producer who earned an Oscar for his story contributions to “Pulp Fiction,” has written and executive produced a new pilot for NBC and Spelling Television. Details about the hourlong show, tentatively titled “Odd Jobs,” were sketchy, but sources say it’s a “Pulp Fiction”-esque vehicle about two wacky guys — Fast Freddy and Crazy Andy — who are constantly on the prowl for work as handymen. NBC officials declined to comment on the project, but sources say the pilot was completed last week.
