Don Buckley, formerly vice president of advertising and publicity at Warner Bros., has been promoted to senior VP of theatrical marketing and new media for the studio.

In his new position, Buckley will continue to head the company’s New York office, supervising all New York-based national publicity, advertising and promotion activities. He will continue to report to Chris Pula, Warner Bros. president of theatrical marketing.

Buckley, a founding manager of Warner Bros. Online, will continue to create interactive marketing of Warner Bros. films.

“As this area of our business continues to grow and develop, we will continue to look to Don for a broad spectrum of ideas and direction,” Pula said in a statement.

Buckley joined Warner Bros. as New York advertising manager in July 1980 from Grey Advertising. He took over the East Coast advertising and publicity department in 1988, and was promoted to veep of advertising and publicity in 1991.
