MILAN — The directive board of Biennale of Venice has decided to delay the confirmation of film producer Felice Laudadio as curator for the next year Film Festival until Jan. 9.
The board said it was unable to take any decision during a Tuesday meeting because of “financial uncertainty” regarding most activities organized by the Biennale and in particular the Architecture and Arts Exhibition.
Lino Micchiche, president of the executive board, said that the appointment of Laudadio for next year’s Film Festival is almost certain, despite a suggestion that film director Bernardo Bertolucci head the Film Festival next year. Bertolucci has already rejected a similar proposal in the past and is not considered a possible candidate.
Laudadio was not confirmed, because the board preferred to wait until it could approve all the execs in charge of the Biennale activities, Micchiche said.
