Daily Variety’s Peter Bart was among the nominees Tuesday for the Publicist Guild of America’s press and international media awards, to be given out March 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Bart, vice president and editor-in-chief of Daily Variety and Variety, was nominated along with Brian Lowry, television writer for the Los Angeles Times and former scribe for Daily Variety; “Entertainment Tonight” film critic Leonard Maltin; freelance journalists Bart & Nancy Mills; and L.A. Times film critic Kenneth Turan.

Nominated for the international media award were Philip Berk, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., who writes for the Augus Group of publications and Big Screen in South Africa; Jean-Paul Chaillet of Premier magazine and L’Express, France; Michael Conte, of Canal Plus, Spain, and Cine Cinema, France; Renaud DeDancourt of TFI, France; and Alessandra Venezia of Panorama Magazine, Italy.
